Asset Freeze and Protection

Asset freeze and protection can be used to archive your assets more securely. Admins and users with asset freeze and/or protection permissions can freeze or protect assets, restricting their deletion or editing. These two functionalities differ slightly, with freeze offering a higher level of protection.

Please note that if a project contains a frozen or protected asset, the project cannot be deleted. This restriction also applies to the API. For more details, refer to the API Documentation.

When assets are frozen or protected, they will be assigned a corresponding attribute that is visible in the grid view.

Asset Freeze

Asset Freeze prevents users from editing attributes such as metadata and media. This permission can also be enabled for custom user roles through User Management. Asset freeze is enforced at the database level, meaning API calls are also restricted for frozen assets.

Freezing or unfreezing an asset can be performed in the Asset View or via the Bulk Edit Tool.

Asset Protection

Asset Protection prevents users from removing assets or attached media. However, all other actions remain available.

Protecting an asset or removing protection can be done in the Asset View or via the Bulk Edit Tool.
