Media Pocket supports direct sharing with different tools:
- Aspera: Fast file transfer tool
- FTP: File Transfer Protocol
- SCP: Secure copy protocol
- Azure Blob: Cloud storage
- AWS S3: Cloud storage
To share an asset with any of the tools mentioned above you must first create and configure a publishing channel. All users and guests can create and use publishing channels. The environment can have several publishing channels per type, such as several Aspera destinations.
Create a publishing channel
Only Admin users can create, edit or delete publishing channels. Admins can find the Publishing channel tool from the settings menu on the top right corner. All environment's publishing channels are listed in the opening window.
You can create a new channel by clicking "+Create a Publishing Channel".
Each channel type requires a different configuration, simply follow the instructions, and check the step-by-step guide for Aspera.
By default, the channels are public to all users. If needed, the channel can be set to be private and shared with one or more users.
Share in Publishing Channel
Once the publishing channel is set, you may share assets in it by clicking "share" on top of the asset.
Next, choose the share destination and click share. You will be notified when sharing is done.
Note: Guest users are not allowed to share assets in publishing channels.
